The Second U.S.- China Cold Chain Standards and Regulations
Conference Was Successfully Held


The Second U.S.-China Cold Chain Standards and Regulations Conference was successfully held at the Kempinski Hotel in Beijing on July 27 to 28, 2010. The conference was attended by close to 200 representatives including Chinese and U.S. government officials, agricultural production and food processors, cold chain logistics providers, equipment manufacturers, retailers, research institutions and media. The conference was co-organized by American Society of Transportation and Logistics (AST&L), China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), Agricultural Trade Office,U.S.Embassy Beijing (ATO Beijing) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration, China Office (USDA China) with support from M. Z. Marketing Communications.

The Second U.S.-China Cold Chain Standards and Regulations Conference was based on the first conference. The major premise of conference was communication of Cold Chain standards and regulations between U.S. and China. It benefits both countries to support the development of cold chain logistics, so that the Cold Chain Industry and companies in China can be guided and regulated. The expert speakers included senior representatives from GCCA, Beijing Wuzi University, USFDA, Ingersoll Rand, Henan Shuanhui, China Merchants Americold, Yum!, England Logistics and China logistics technology Association.

ASTL will continue to support sharing of Cold Chain industry best practices and standards between China and U.S. The next step is to add Cold Chain Logistics Management training and certification program to our offerings in China.
