The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) inspectors are finding deficiencies in dangerous goods, which result in heavy fines, shipment delays, and rejection of the cargo.

DOT regulates hazmat transportation within the territories of the U.S. The regulations are to be found in 49 CFR.
