AST&L has established industrial partnership with five of fortune 500 enterprises world-wide


09 Sino-American Logistics Conference was successfully held in Shanghai North Bund on September 10th to 11th .It was jointly organized by the American Society of Transportation and Logistics (AST&L), China Communications and Transportation Association (CCTA), China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China International Talent Exchange Foundation (CITEF), and Shanghai Hongkou District Government, supported by US Department of Commerce, US Department of Transportation, US Consulate Shanghai, US-China Business Council and International Road Union.

Supported and sponsored by US Department of Commerce (DOC), AST&L’s new Global Logistics Management (GLM) Certification was announced by Laurie Denham (AST&L executive director), Bruce Harsh (US DOC Director of Distribution and Supply Chain Team), and John Miller (US DOC International Trade Specialist). AST&L formed GLM industrial partnership with fortune 500 companies including Ingersoll Rand, BNSF railway, Delphi, Penske Logistics and Schneider Logistics. Those enterprises will contribute their rich experience in logistics and supply chain industry, provide their best industrial practices and experts to support the development of GLM. Candidates who passed GLM will be offered preference employment opportunities by industry partners. Chief Representative - Great China of AST&L, Chung Tam said that AST&L will establish more partnership with global leading enterprises to develop best-in-class logistics industry training.

Global Logistics Management Certification (GLM) is another important international certification developed by AST&L after CTL. GLM takes into consideration characteristics of Chinese logistics industry, and leading industrial experience. It will become a new popular certification program which satisfies the needs of industrial professionals in China. GLM body of knowledge covers fundamentals of global logistics and supply chain management, operational skills and international practice.
