Daniel Hui has over 30 years of management and consulting experience in Supply Chain Management, with special focus on operations and inventory management. His professional footprint includes the process and pharmaceuticals industry, electronics and high-tech manufacturing, and consumer packaged goods. Daniel’s diversified experience also includes years of project consulting, education, SCM software implementation, training, and process improvement. During his professional career, Daniel has delivered million of dollars of savings to his clients and employers.
Daniel has built solid hands-on working experience in SCM and Logistics with some of the largest Fortune Global 500 companies, including L’Air Liquide, BASF, and Pfizer, with in-depth understanding of supply chain operations and processes. He has led and participated in ERP and best-of-breed supply chain software implementation projects, including Manugistics, and i2.
Daniel developed advanced system implementation experience while being a Consultant Manager for a constraint-based APS system provider in the late 90s. Leading a team of consultants, he was in charge of installation of constraint-based APS solutions and processes for a number of clients in different industries in North America. Most recently, Daniel is involved in the implementation of a multi-echelon inventory optimization system project.
Currently, Daniel is a Senior Manager in Global SCM in the electronics manufacturing industry. He is actively involved in the development and execution of Supply Chain strategy focusing on supply chain visibility and inventory optimization. Working closely with Operations, Sales and Marketing, IT and Finance, the strategy has successfully increased inventory turns by over 40% in 2 years and delivered multi-million dollars in inventory savings.
Graduated from the University of Hong Kong with an Engineering Degree and an MBA, Daniel is a Professional Engineer (Industrial Engineering) in Canada. He joined APICS in 1992, and was VP of Education and Board Member of the Toronto Chapter for 8 years. He is a recognized APICS instructor including CPIM and CSCP, and has led numerous public and in-house trainings sessions in Europe, Asia, and North America.
